Wednesday 8th March was International Woman's Day. The library displayed books about suffragettes and history of New Zealand Women since they won the vote, as well as a Sophisticated Picture Book on Malala, and books on Frida, Rosa Parks, Anne Frank, Helen Keller, Marie Curie, Jean Batten, Amelia Earhart, Princess Dianna visiting New Zealand, girls in the Kapa Haka, Maori and NZ heroines and other fictional heroines.
We have such wonderful resources. Do encourage your girls and boys to read about some female and male heroes, both real and fictional.
March is Woman's History Month. Why not challenge yourself to learn about at least one female who changed history.
