Summer Reading Challenge

I'm thankful to the previous WPS students who loved helping in the library when they were at this school and come back every year to help out. Pictured here are Naomi and Bianca with their display for our Summer Reading Challenge. Now that all the books have been accounted for in the annual stock take, I can lend them out for summer, to help stop the summer reading slide.

If you read ten books and bring me your log next year you will be entered into a lucky draw for a prize.

You can also write book reviews on the books you read, on our school library website. Details are on the Summer Reading Challenge log.

Year 3-5 children have been invited to sign up and issue their books at morning tea today to get the ball rolling.

Parents of children in year 0-2 will need to sign up for juniors wanting to participate. You can pop in anytime between now and 1.30pm on Friday, during school hours.

There are a few criteria:

  • Children must have no outstanding books out.
  • They will need a library bag to take the books home in
  • Children need to commit to bringing the books back, undamaged next year
This is not open for year sixes, however, I wish the year sixes all the best with your new schools. We will miss you!
