Book Trailer competition

The year six book club have been working on their book trailers. The free version of Animoto only allows them 30 seconds so it can be tricky to get that one extra picture or caption in. With the small amount of space allocated, they have managed to capture the essence of the books they are presenting using a theme, music and carefully thought out scenes.

Initially, they used storyboards to plan the photographs and captions. Some of the photographs (taken on the mini iPads) have been digitally edited or manually made into combined pics with good old scissors and glue. The Warhorse team used toy army men to create a battle scene. They used a variety of props (including the boat in Room 5 - thanks Kit).

Some of the stories are quite edgy and I noticed that two of the trailers are David Walliams's stories and two are written by Michael Morpurgo, while one is the first of the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz. The children chose their own books and brought them to life through their trailers, made in groups.

We have one trailer left to finish and then I will put up a poll (like last year) so that parents and whanau can vote for their favourite. Enjoy!

PS, the trailers are in the posts below this one. Just click on the links.
