Reading Fair boards

Congratulations to the Y6 book club for your creativity and effort in creating Reading Fair boards that inspire the imagination. The following four boards received a Highly Commended ribbon. Well done!

The Twits - Anya, Emma and Zoe

Famous Five - Five on a Treasure Island - Finn, Jacob & Ben

Famous Five - Five on a Treasure Island - Sian, Sean, Te-Aria & Ellie

The children chose who they would work with, and which book they wanted to represent. They were given a 'blank canvas' and they could use their imaginations to create a display board that reflected their chosen book. It was interesting to see Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl coming up strongly. Micah read the Famous Five on Treasure island to the children in his class, hence the renewed interest in Enid Blyton's classic series. 

The boards were judged by four volunteer judges - Nick, Micah, Jenny and Nadia. Thank-you so much for your time, judges. They were judged on design and the content of the literary elements (plot, setting, characters, genre, etc).

The following boards were Commended. Well done everyone.

A shout out to Anton who completed his board solo as his friend had to relocate early in the year. Well done on your tenacity.
